Celebrate Independence day 15th Augest 2016

The national day, Independence day is celebrated on 15th of August every year. Which honours the nation’s independence from the British Empire in the 15th August 1947. India got independence following an Independence Movement noted for largely nonviolent resistance and also civil disobedience which was led by Indian National Congress (INC)

In the year 1929 Lahore session of Indian National Congress, the Purna Swaraj declaration, or the “Declaration of Independence of India” was promulgated.

Celebration of Independence day

Independence day is one of the 3 national holidays, the other 2 being Republic day which falls on 26 January every year, and Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday on 2nd October. These holidays are being celebrated in all Indian states and the Union Territories. At the evening of Independence day, prime minister hoists the national flag on the ramparts of the historical site Red Fort in Delhi. Around twenty-one, gun shots are being fired to honour the solemn occasion. The prime minister while giving the speech, highlights all the past year’s achievements, he raises the important issues and discusses further development too. He also pays tribute to the leaders of Indian Independence Movement. Then Indian national Anthem, “Jana Gana Mana” is being sung on this day. After the beautiful speech, march past is done by different divisions of the Indian Armed Forces and also paramilitary people.

Various cultural programmes are being helped at the school, colleges, and also at the governmental and non-governmental institutions also.
